En-Sure Supports Climate Intelligence Demonstrations at the Local Councils Expo 2025
We were pleased to collaborate with the Research Innovation Unit and the Local Councils’ Association Malta during the annual Local Councils Expo 2025, where climate intelligence technologies were presented directly to local and regional authorities.
As part of this initiative, En-Sure provided real-time and historical air quality data from the Kunak Air Pro sensors installed in Gżira. These high-resolution datasets were displayed at the Expo, allowing visitors to explore particulate matter and gaseous pollutant levels and observe how they change throughout the day and across different streets.
For many mayors, councillors, executive secretaries and even members of the Malta Police Force who visited the stand, this was their first opportunity to interact with continuous, street-level air quality monitoring. The live demonstrations prompted practical discussions on topics such as:
traffic flows and congestion
school street safety
the impact of fireworks and industrial activities
the role of monitoring data in planning and enforcement
The Research Innovation Unit also showcased its wider family of climate tools, including the Urban Heat Island analyses, Digital Twin visualisations of Malta, and Heat Severity mapping developed through the Horizon 2020 JUSTNature project. These tools support councils in understanding local climate vulnerabilities and designing informed, equitable interventions.
En-Sure is proud to support initiatives that integrate environmental monitoring, data-driven decision-making, and climate resilience planning. We look forward to continued collaboration with the Research Innovation Unit and Malta’s local councils as they work towards healthier, more sustainable communities.
