Waste packaging audit

Any producer or distributor of packaging in Malta must adhere to S.L. 549.43 – Waste Management (Packaging and Packaging Waste) Regulations. These regulations are designed to mitigate the negative effects of waste and its management, while also promoting waste reduction. 

In compliance with these regulations and at the request of the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA), En-Sure was commissioned to conduct a Packaging Waste Audit for Mare Blu Tuna Farm Ltd. Our registered auditors performed the audit according to the guidelines for self-compliant producers of packaging materials. The audit’s objectives were to verify the accuracy of the quantities declared in the producer’s declaration form, ensure that only authorized waste management entities were used, confirm that the reported amounts of packaging waste were properly recovered and recycled, and verify that the producer provided proof of recovery and recycling to the Authority.
